Taseko announces $10,000 donation to BCIT’s Terry Mulligan Award Endowment Fund

December 04, 2017

Taseko was pleased to present the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) with a cheque for $10,000 for the BCIT Terry Mulligan Award Endowment Fund at the annual Mining Suppliers Association of BC (MSABC) Christmas Party, on November 30th, 2017.

The award and endowment fund was established by MSABC to honor Terry Mulligan, Past President and CEO of the Association. The Terry Mulligan Memorial Award and a $1000 scholarship will be presented annually to a BCIT student in the Mineral Exploration & Mining Technology program or the Mining & Mineral Resource Engineering program who, in the opinion of the faculty, best exemplifies the spirit and passion of Terry Mulligan.

Taseko wanted to inspire others in the same way that Terry has inspired the men and woman that work at Taseko and Gibraltar Mine, and we want this endowment in Terry’s honour to be an enduring success long into the future.

2017 Award Winner

The winner of the first annual Terry Mulligan Memorial Award was Cameron Weatherhead, a third-year Mining and Mineral Resource Engineering Degree student. In addition to being academically strong, Cameron regularly exhibits a sincere compassion for his colleagues and is always willing to help those in need.
